Oregano is a plant that smells all over the Mediterranean and a basic plant in Greek cuisine.

Wild oregano, a plant that is considered one of the most effective natural antibiotics and antioxidants, was used as a medicine in ancient Greece. “Oregano” originates from Greece, and the word itself translated into our language means “joy of the mountain”, while other translations say that it is “one sharp plant”.

Our wild oregano grows at high altitudes, in the Mediterranean region in the southern part of Greece.

In Greek cuisine, oregano is used in tomato sauces, with meat, fish, cheese, eggs, salads and cheeses, and with vegetables such as tomatoes, zucchini, beans.

Oregano is an essential ingredient in countless Mediterranean recipes.
