Vasilopita

Greek vasilopita is a traditional New Year’s cake prepared in Greece for Saint Basil’s Day, celebrated on January 1st. This cake carries deep symbolism, as a coin (known as the “flouri”) is hidden inside it, and the person who finds it while cutting the cake is believed to have good luck throughout the year.
